Armando Almeida, Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and faculty member at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa School of Nursing, has been awarded the T4EU Teaching Qualification Certificate 2025, , a distinction granted by the Transform4Europe Alliance (T4EU) in recognition of outstanding commitment to teaching excellence and pedagogical innovation.
This distinction acknowledges Professor Almeida's academic and teaching achievements, as well as the quality of education delivered at the School of Nursing, highlighting learner-centred educational practices, innovative teaching approaches and meaningful learning experiences that contribute to students' academic and professional development.
The T4EU Teaching Qualification Certificate recognises academics from the universities of the Transform4Europe Alliance who demonstrate excellence in teaching, the implementation of innovative pedagogical methods, continuous professional development, and active engagement in mentoring both students and colleagues. The selection process is based on several criteria, including recent teaching experience, the adoption of innovative educational practices, positive student feedback, participation in educational initiatives, and alignment with the Alliance's values and priorities.
Alongside Armando Almeida, Ana Filipa dos Santos Sobral, Maria Raquel Costa Campos Leichsenring Franco, Bruno António Caetano Cardoso, Liliana Brioso Martins de Andrade Dinis and Catarina Raposo Vieira da Silva were also recognised, making a total of six Universidade Católica Portuguesa academics honoured with the T4EU Teaching Qualification Certificate 2025.
