Fernanda Pombal, a PhD student in Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing (FCSE) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, has been recognised by the Northern Regional Section of the Ordem dos Enfermeiros with the prestigious Nursing Research Award. Her study, entitled “Applicability of an Instrument for Identifying Children and Adolescents with Special Health Needs in a Community Care Unit,” earned this distinguished accolade.

The award ceremony took place on 3 December during the IV Scientific Meeting on Nursing Research, held in Porto. This recognition reflects a significant component of the research undertaken as part of her doctoral studies. In the final stages of her dissertation, Fernanda Pombal has been exploring the provision of care for children with special health needs in school settings, under the supervision of Doctor Constança Festas, a faculty member at FCSE.
