The Alumni Office in Porto and the Alumni Associations (Biotechnology, Law and FEP) as well as the different alumni communities (Católica Porto Business School, School of Nursing and Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing, School of Arts and Faculty of Theology in Porto) are organizing an event aimed which intends to reflect, debate and learn about ‘second careers: challenges and opportunities’.
This is a reality that many people face, or may face. Various situations (professional and organisational changes, new personal discoveries, health challenges for oneself or one's dependents), whether abrupt or not, can lead to the need to rethink and reorient careers, implying personal, family, training, lifestyle and networking adaptations, among others. These changes imply flexibility and adaptation, which can be a challenge in itself, but also an opportunity.
We'll start by listening to Professor Vincenzo Bassi, President of the Federation of Catholic Family Associations in Europe, from Rome, who will outline the topic.
This will be followed by a round table with first-person testimonies and guidance on second career solutions.
