Treating wounds in children is a real challenge: pain, discomfort, anxiety, difficulties in treatment adherence, and the limited availability of therapies tailored to this age group are well-known realities. But what if there were a way to make this process faster, less painful, and more effective?
In this context, it is essential to explore innovative approaches that enable effective, safe, and humanized care. Continuous Topical Oxygen Therapy and Blue Light Photobiomodulation emerge as promising complementary therapies, proving effective in accelerating wound healing, reducing pain, and improving the child’s overall treatment experience.
The main objective of this webinar is to present and discuss the practical application of these therapies in a pediatric setting: Continuous Topical Oxygen Therapy using the portable NATROX® system, and Blue Light Photobiomodulation with the EMOLED device. Clinical experiences will also be shared, including cases and strategies that highlight the value of these therapies as advanced resources in pediatric wound care.
Claudia Ribeiro and Rita Cabral will lead the next session of the Católica Nursing Talks, dedicated to the topic “Pediatric Wound Care: How Oxygen Therapy and Blue Light Are Transforming Care,” moderated by José Alves from the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS).
The session is free of charge, but registration is required.
